With the passing of Labor Day, and the beginning of football season, your kitchen most likely could use a little extra love. Two Men & A Vacuum know the importance of not only saving the environment but also keeping a clean kitchen. What you don’t expect when purchasing household cleaners is the amount of damage they do to the environment. Instead of purchasing hazardous chemicals to clean your kitchen, Two Men & A Vacuum conquered the issue by finding a heroic solution: eco-friendly kitchen cleaning recipes!

1. Glass

If your stove is glass-topped, give food residue the big KO by using a homemade glass cleaner. Two Men & A Vacuum know that ammonia based window cleaners are terrible for the environment and for your health. Instead of using an ammonia based cleaner, make your own by combining 4 tablespoons of lemon juice and hot water. Mix these ingredients in a spray bottle and watch your glass stains fade away.

2. Ovens

Inside of your oven is a scary place, even for the strongest of stomachs. To defeat the grime that lives inside ovens, cover the bottom with baking soda. Once it is completely covered, add a little water to create a paste-like substance. Let the baking soda paste sit overnight (with no heat) and in the morning, scrape off the mixture. The baking soda will remove the grime for you! Once the baking soda paste is removed, wipe the oven floor with vinegar and water to restore a shiny, spot free oven interior.

3. Microwaves

Got a splatter filled microwave? No problem! Two Men & A Vacuum are here to help. Simply combine 1/2 cup of vinegar and a 1/2 cup of water in a bowl and bring to a boil inside the microwave. Once boiling, let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes. The steam from the mixture will help dissolve those pesky splatters and will make them easy to wipe clean.

4. Refrigerators

For your refrigerator cleaning endeavors, mix 1/2 cup of baking soda and two teaspoons of a natural liquid soap in a bucket of water. That’s all there is to it!

5. Garbage Disposals

Garbage Disposals have been known to emit the stinkiest of odors. To beat this problem, cut half a lemon and shove it down the disposal. Let water run down as well and grind the lemon for 10 seconds. If you are not comfortable grinding your lemons, or just need them for dinner, there is an alternative option. You can pour 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar down the disposal. Let the mixture sit in the drain for about 10 minutes then run water and turn on the disposal.

A clean kitchen is a happy kitchen, especially when it was cleaned with Two Men & A Vacuum’s eco-friendly alternatives.
