Two Men and A Vacuum Save a Neighborhood from Gloom

As Two Men and a Vacuum patrolled the neighborhood, they noticed something strange. On this gorgeous summer day, no children were playing outside, no one was walking their dog and no one was mowing their lawn. As a matter of fact, no one was outside at all.  It was the perfect day for any of these activities — 75 degrees with a cool, friendly breeze. Why wasn’t anyone in this neighborhood enjoying what Mother Nature had provided? Why was everyone cooped up in their homes?

They knocked on a door to find out what was going on. A rumpled man with a wicked case of bedhead answered the door. As he wiped the sleep from his eyes, he squinted at them as they stood in the sunlight, “What in tarnation are you doing here at this hour?” He asked grumpily.

“This hour?” Two Men and A Vacuum responded, “Its 2 o’clock in the afternoon.”

Confused and tired, the man finally noticed the sun, perked up and exclaimed, “Oh no! It’s happened again!”

“What’s happened, sir?”

“Well, here in this neighborhood, we have a bad habit of letting our exterior windows get filthy. Sometimes they get so bad that we’re not even sure if it’s night or day! It seems like it’s happened again. I’ll go get one of those bottles that screws on to the end of your hose and spray them down.”

Two Men and A Vacuum looked at each other, “What if we told you there was a better way to clean your windows than spraying them down with chemicals? We have a more green, eco-friendly way that will still leave your windows spotless.”

Before the befuddled man could reply, Two Men and A Vacuum sprang into action.

They pulled out a bucket and added a half cup of vinegar with one teaspoon of eco-friendly dish soap.

“Where’s your hose, sir?”

The man pointed to the spigot sticking out of the front of his home. Two Men and A Vacuum used it to add approximately one gallon of water, finalizing the mixture.

After dampening a cotton, lint-free cloth with the mixture, they ran it over the grime covering the window. After the window was sufficiently clean, they took a dry, lint-free cloth and buffed out the glass. The window looked brand new. With the two of them working, it took no time at all to clean all of the stranger’s windows.

The man was stunned. He just couldn’t believe that all it took was a couple of household items to change his windows from gross to great. Two Men and A Vacuum gently reached over and closed his jaw, “Sir, go wake your neighbors. Show them that the sun is shining. Show them how easy it is to clean your windows in an eco-friendly way.”

As Two Men and A Vacuum walked out of the neighborhood they heard the sound of the man pounding on his neighbor’s door.

“Harold? What in tarnation are you doing here at this hour?”
