• Floors. We start by vacuuming the floor, especially for clients that have shedding pets or a cat litter box in the bathroom. This is because cleaning the shower and tub can often splash water, which makes sweeping the floor later more difficult to clean up.
• Toilet Cleaner. Next we add toilet bowl cleaner to the toilet bowl to let it set while we clean the rest of the bathroom.
• Tubs. If we are cleaning a tub only, we first scour the tub using our green cleaning solution made of equal parts of baking soda, borax and kosher salt. This helps remove soap scum. However, if no soap scum is present, we use another eco friendly cleaning solution made of vinegar and water to clean walls and spot clean as necessary.
• Showers. When cleaning a glass shower, we start with the walls first. If it is tile, we use our cleaning solution made of vinegar and water, and if it is marble or granite, we use Castile soap and water. Depending on the circumstances, we may also use a sponge with warm water, Dawn soap and a squeegee for the glass, or vinegar water and a lint–free cloth.
• Toilets. Once the shower is complete, we attack the toilet using a natural disinfecting solution of three parts hydrogen peroxide, two parts water and about a teaspoon of Dawn dish detergent to clean the outside of the toilet.
• Vanity and sink. To continue the green cleaning in your bathroom further, we use microfiber and lint–free cloths for mirrors and glass to reduce all paper towel usage, integrating Dawn or Castile soap as necessary. Once the vanity is cleaned, we make sure all faucets are spot–free and shining.
• Mop. The last step is to damp mop the floor!
